He climbed up into the announcer stadium box and hucked himself over the edge. And this was before bungee cord jumping was anywhere popular. So he bounced a few times. And never hit the ground and was still about, I don't know, a ladder's height above the ground when he stopped bouncing, which he had had us bring a janitor's ladder out to fetch him. So he was perfectly on target, right? But willing to prove himself beyond doubt. He was also the kind of guy that got his master's thesis and radio antenna. And he told the story that when he was working on his thesis, he was in, I think it was Argentina or one of those that Bay that's got the statue on it. And he was either on that or near their clear day antenna sticking out of his backpack, radio headphones on and nylon jacket because it was cold. And he got struck with a bolt of lightning.
