### Original YouTube Description

The Greatest Expedition you will ever undertake is the journey to self-understanding. You can climb a 'Personal Everest' free-climbing, but we don't recommend it. In this video, you'll learn about five ways you can participate - with others, with the Author, and by leading others in a licensed platform. **Daniel:**
Hello, I’m Daniel Comp. I’m the author and curator of Scotomaville.

I believe that the greatest expedition you will ever undertake is that journey to self-understanding. And in Scotomaville, through the abstract, I present my ideas for that. In the book you have 335 pages in a workbook style to scan a QR code, watch the video, and participate if you wish.

And in this clip I’m going to talk to you a little bit about ways that you can participate with others that are climbing their Personal Everest.

Your first option — if you’ll go to “About” and then the book — this will pull up in the tabs called “Participation.”

The first option you have is self-supported, going in alone. You can get there — I did — with a great deal of help from my wife and business partner Angelina. You can learn why you do what you do, to be aware, and then to understand it. You can work your way through the workbook. That is true.

I would highly recommend a peer-supported expedition. That’s where you are not going in alone, not depending on your own stamina and commitment, but you have accountability and you have support with others that are going through this and insights from multiple points of view.

Even better, if you’d like to ask me questions, consider an author-supported one.

And for those that are leaders, we have Base Camp summits, we have events to meet us around the country for you to come to where we’re at as well, and to be introduced quickly to all of the content and meet other leaders that are sharing this across the country.

Click on “Subscribe” and you’ll find that there are five programs for you to subscribe and participate on.

One way is free climbing — yeah, it’s self-supported and it is free. So it’s self-paced, self-supported, no cost at all. There’s 30 YouTube videos and you can comment on YouTube. So that looks like this where you can go through the playlist and start.

And the reason we did this — as you’ll see on the cover of the book — it’s a Fiat 500. We literally had to start off in a pretty tough place. Angelina had a traumatic brain injury. We had to start over, lost everything. And that’s the story of the book, so I’ll leave that for you.

So we have a big heart for those that have to start off from tough circumstances. But we really would encourage you to consider participating in a peer-supported level. It’s basically a buck a day and if it’s 30 episodes and it takes about an hour to work through them you could do this in one month. It’ll take a lot longer to put all the work to apply it, but you can discuss the episodes with others by logging in. You have introduction and then to other explorers and mountaineers. You get a profile and a biography that you can share with others through the directory. And the great part is you get to share your uploads with other explorers for them to comment on how you’re doing, how that being roped in to each other feels, with feedback and critiques and a minion so to speak.

And then, if you’d like to have my point of view, you can have the author-supported. It’s recommended that you put in about an hour a week — that’ll be about 30 weeks. I am involved in answering questions and there is… it includes all of the peer-supported explorer, but it also includes a monthly Zoom meeting with just the mountaineer subscribers. So that’s a step up in the sense that you can ask the author “what the hey,” right?

If you’re a leader, if you’re a veteran service provider, if you’re a non-profit or a leader of a company or an entrepreneur and you really would like to take this to a much greater level — as in providing, gaining the insights and then providing those to others — the leadership skills as a guide is really what I’d greatly encourage you. That is everything here: the explorer package plus one-on-one private support with me, support ticketing with me specifically, two monthly Zooms with leaders only and myself, a Q&A section on the website where you can post to the community to all of the leaders: “Hey, here’s a situation I’m going through, how do you suggest I traverse that crevasse for an example?” And then you have an option to have some of your success stories syndicated across the 4,500 website syndication that we have.

And then finally there is a certification process where a custom Scotomaville platform is launched for you and your groups and you can lead a group of other people through their Personal Everest. So you might be a men’s group, you might be a small group that you want to go through that. And that I can show you. We’ll talk about that in the next video.

So with all of that I leave you with the hope that you will take us up on the greatest expedition you will ever undertake and that is to get the heck out of Scotomaville.

**CODEX ENTRY**

**Date:** February 9, 2022
**File:** SCOTOMAVILLE 03.00 - PARTICIPATION
**Monomyth Stage:** 02 - Call to Adventure
**Gameboard Position:** Camp -3: The Call to Adventure
**MA5 Domain:** Initium
**Summary:** Daniel clearly outlines the five progressive participation tiers in Scotomaville, from free self-supported climbing through peer-supported, author-supported, leadership/guide, and full certification, while urging participants not to attempt the Personal Everest alone.
**Key Insight:** Real transformation happens fastest and safest when climbers are roped together with accountability, multiple perspectives, and expert guidance.
**Narrative Significance:** This video operationalizes the abstract thesis and workbook into actionable community pathways, turning the invitation into a structured expedition system and establishing the foundational support architecture for the entire Initium movement.
