summary: "At Elephant Butte, New Mexico, Daniel reflects on Volume 1 Episode 15 (Curves) while watching his own video from years earlier. He demonstrates how life is full of unexpected curves (postponements, market chaos, inflation, mandates, emotional conflict) and shows visible personal growth through self-reflection video modeling. The episode emphasizes adapting, pivoting, and recording the journey so future generations can learn from your wake."
keypoints:
  - "Life is full of curves; expecting them and learning to pivot prevents snapping under emotional or external pressure"
  - "Self-reflection video modeling provides onus probandi evidence of growth and helps the prefrontal cortex adjust beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors"
  - "Delays and postponements are not personal failure — they often mean others are not ready or timing is off"
  - "Recording your journey creates a legacy that compounds; future viewers (including your own grandchildren) gain wisdom from your curves"

### Original YouTube Description

Curves are everywhere. Life is full of them. We can either learn to adapt or snap under the burden of change. In this Reflection of v1.15 Daniel revisits his growth of character clearly visible from just a couple years ago - just like the price of fuel! Emotional conflict is the presence of different and opposing emotions relating to a situation that has recently taken place or is in the process of being unfolded resulting in a state of disharmony between incompatible intense emotions! That's what is going on across America. Inflation, infestation, fentanyl, fear, etc. You don't have to snap. Learn about curves. People look for freedom; says Florida Governor Desantis. Are you, or someone you know weary of anxiety, fear, frustration, depression, addiction, boredom, or anger? Knowing Why We Do What We Do is the outcome of a Personal Everest. That is because self-reflection video modeling is an effective method of transformation. Take action on the unction you feel to mature, not simply age. **Daniel:**
Welcome back to another reflection video of Scotomaville. This is a reflection on Volume One, Episode 15 on curves.

And as you might have noticed we’re just outside of Truth or Consequences at a place called Elephant Butte. That can’t be right… oh Elephant Butte. Yeah I just had to say that for my grandson and daughter. Elephant butt? Yeah no, it’s Elephant Butte and the lake capacity is at four percent. You may have caught that. There are curves all along the shoreline because this has been a drought for many years now in the western U.S. Four percent capacity. You know some of you may know what that feels like with all of the mandates and shutdowns and navigation you had to do over the last few years.

In this episode I’m going to have a look at what I said a few years ago and it’s been at least a year since I’ve watched it so let me sit down, review my own thoughts on curves.

Welcome back to another fabulously hot day for leaving Scotomaville.

You remember the physicist Stephen Hawking. One of my favorite quotes of his: “What monstrosities would walk our streets should their faces be as unfinished as their minds.” I’d like you to consider leaving Scotomaville as a finishing school for your mind. And one of the fundamental understandings is the difference between lines and curves. Life is what happens between our plans and most journeys are full of curves.

Because I watch the weather I knew today would be gusty winds and there aren’t any clouds up yet and I already flew the drone so I did get some good footage in calm wind and now it’s time to relocate to the other side downwind and the Airstream in that little vortex. You see — adaptable, pivoting. So come with me, let’s set that up and start shooting on the other side.

One of the primary lessons… I’m just finished waiting for two trucks to leave. The wind’s gusting and now the dogs are barking. Curse the unexpected. They come at you all the time but you know that because you’ve just finished going through the pandemic. We’re in the middle of inflation. We got a border crisis. Fuel prices are going through the roof.

At the end of the video I made a note — a dollar fifty-nine gasoline. That was just not even two and a half years ago. A lot changes quickly.

If you understand the difference between linear and curves you can expect compounding, exponential. For example a strong reason for you to develop your corpus, to leave as a legacy for your avatar to learn from in a training set, is that your kids and grandkids and great-grandkids and generations can pass on those nuggets of wisdom that you have earned in difficult ways. They can learn what it was like to be you at your time and glean from that principles and confidence in their own choices in staying out of Scotomaville.

So do your recordings. Expect compounding of those insights that you have and the knowledge you have. Look back. David Deutsch. Stephen Hawking. Learn from history by paying attention.

Foreign to Circleville. You notice we are in Truth or Consequences. Well Elephant Butte technically. Coincidental dancing with the invisible world. I don’t know. I didn’t plan it but I did take note of it.

Did you just see my index card? Pay attention — gust of wind.

You see, learn to dance. Learn to pivot. Learn to allow the winds that blow to have you reset your sail as Jim Rohn would say. And then expect to have to reset it again. We’ve just come from the Pacific Northwest to Texas. Making the Pacific Northwest doesn’t fit us anymore and then in Texas we just found — oh my gosh — to say it nicely would be an infestation. It’s unbelievable how many hundreds of thousands of migrants are scattered across the landscape starting over but making us feel unsafe with this kind of home.

It would be easy then for the media and for technology to ratchet up our fear based even on what we see because of pattern recognizing. You get it?

A key point then to catch from NetLogo is that viruses propagate across a network in waves and those peaks, popular does not make it accurate. It’s not the whole picture. The whole cycle of a wave gets you to return back to where you were and hopefully in our Democratic Republic in eight weeks we’ll see a correction of the last uh two years.

Self-observation that I believe will help some of you on your own journey.

There seems to be a way to dance. Sometimes that dance involves pausing. It’s a difficult one because there are emotions involved.

Someone else will gain value by your observation. You would be wise to slow down and record the process.

We show you on paper you will undoubtedly have a certain amount of production to do over amount of time, right? So you start out with getting set up and then you go into your main creative and then you get eventually into post which is the cleanup piece and you’ll have an expectation of getting certain amount over time, a certain amount done, right? So that you’ll produce your video, your story, whatever that is.

Except that things are going to come into play that you could not have predicted. You’ll have things like weather, the market, flat tire, all kinds of unknowns that’ll happen. Flies that’ll land on your face while you’re trying to draw a picture and all of that produces an enormous amount of emotion. And sure enough you’re going to have a Windows update that you will have to do cleanup again. The fly you’ll have to do cleanup on. So that process can take six to ten hours which means that you can miss what feels like the window that you have to do this because you’ve got this postponement going on. And so you will feel emotionally constrained between the unknown market for example under a certain timeline when you’re going to have the resources of power before the wind blows or the sun sets and the dogs bark, the trucks drive by. All of these different things are going to come into play.

A world that I’d like to pass on as a potential belief for you to consider is that ultimately there’s someone else that is served by seeing self-reflection video modeling at work. Seeing how humans adapt their expectations and their pattern seeking and their habits to transform based on whatever those struggles are that you go through. An empty jar, a delay, an unfortunate outcome, etc. Lots and lots of curves that come at you.

So I’ll finish by saying if I’ve done it so can you. Hang in there. Delays often mean someone else is not ready, not that you’re unworthy. And that is getting the heck out of Scotomaville.
