summary: "Daniel Comp reveals the internal structure and facets of the 18-session Level One Series, comparing it to AAA roadside assistance for entrepreneurs but with a more subtle and demanding 18-step process instead of 12. He explains that the curriculum begins heavy on personal development (because 'it's all about you') and progressively tapers into enterprise, community impact, and legacy work. Participants must maintain a journal or sketchbook to track progress, build a detailed online personal and enterprise profile with 'campaign medals,' and prepare for Level 2 transformational expeditions in summer 2011 — including a possible TransAmerica cycling journey or a Brazil adventure. He uses the Tiger Woods scandal as a cautionary tale of what happens when external success outpaces internal foundation."
keypoints:
  - "The Level One Series functions like AAA for serial entrepreneurs but requires 18 sessions instead of 12 steps because the challenges are more subtle and internal"
  - "Curriculum weight shifts from heavy personal development at the start to lighter enterprise and community application by the end"
  - "Every participant must maintain a journal or sketchbook to document progress, drawings, and insights for personal accountability and legacy to their children"
  - "Participants build a searchable online profile with 'campaign medals' that functions like an advanced LinkedIn/Facebook hybrid for men of valor networking"
  - "Successful completion positions men for Level 2 expeditions in 2011, including potential TransAmerica cycling or multi-month adventures with a band of brothers"

The Tiger Woods reference is a rare contemporary cultural example used to underscore the danger of external success without internal strength. No AI avatars; pure founder guidance."

### Cleaned Transcript

**Daniel:**
I jokingly refer to MENtrepreneurs as the AAA for serial entrepreneurs. And it's partly true, except that we have a little tougher challenge because it's a little more subtle. So instead of just getting 12 steps, we've got 18 in our Level 1 series. And then it may take you a Level 2 series, which is to cycle with me across North America or to hike with Mark Barnes and I and canoe across all of Brazil. There'll be something next summer in 2011 that we're going to be doing as a band of men.

So what actually you're going to be going through in this series? Well, the Enterprising Cycle sort of starts out fat in the beginning — lots of stuff on personal development because it's all about you. And once we've got that down, working on your enterprise and your business is a lot simpler. So the material that you're going to cover gets less and less and less. And then you'll start noticing that as we start working on community issues and on your outcomes and your contribution and recognition.

That you're going to be able to avoid things like you've seen with Tiger Woods — you know, all the success and recognition and money and self-destruction because his foundation was not very strong. Even though he had all of the business criteria that he needed to be successful, all the talent, all the opportunities.

When you go through this series, you're going to have to do this with a sketch book or your own journal to track your progress. And as you'll see, I've got numerous journals that I keep notes in, keep drawings in, keep all of the progress that I have been going through. And it's partly to explain to my kids.

Another thing that you're going to go through is that in Level One you will be developing a profile online. You'll be expanding on your directory listing and your personal profile — sort of like a Facebook — so that during the curriculum over the six months, the outcome at the other end will be the ability to meet other men. And then go into Level Two, which is at least a two-month, possibly a three-month expedition. In my case, I've done several TransAmerica cycling trips, so we may do that. We may go across Brazil or some other incredible adventure.

So while you're developing this profile, you'll be adding to a ranking or sort of a series of campaign medals in war. The directory — you'll be able to search to build your network based on these factors and then dig into each of the men's profiles. So that's what the class is developing — sort of this spectrograph, if you will, this personal profile and then your enterprise profile — so that we can find each other in the network. So that's another great benefit of the process.

So I want to personally invite you to be a part of the MENtrepreneurs Level One Series on the Enterprising Cycle — to be part of a small group and to go through that transformation within your own mind, in your own life, in your business, and within your community. It's a pretty amazing experience.

**Summary:** Daniel maps the full architecture of the 18-session Level One Series, describing how the curriculum deliberately begins dense with personal development work and progressively lightens as participants move into enterprise application and community contribution. He introduces the requirement of journaling/sketchbooking for tracking transformation, the creation of searchable online profiles with "campaign medals," and the explicit bridge to Level 2 expeditions in 2011 (TransAmerica cycling or Brazil adventure). The Tiger Woods reference serves as a stark warning about the danger of external success without internal foundation.
**Key Insight:** The most dangerous form of arrested development is when external success and talent outpace internal emotional and relational strength — exactly what happened to Tiger Woods.
**Narrative Significance:** This fourth codex document completes the prologue by giving men a clear map of the journey ahead and the tangible tools (journal, profile, medals) they will use. It is the first explicit mention of Level 2 expeditions, planting the seed for the literal "band of men" adventure that would become a signature of the MENtrepreneurs experience and later echo in Scotomaville expeditions.
