summary: "In this brief course teaser Daniel demonstrates live how easily AI image generation can 'fool us' by struggling to create a believable cinematic drone shot of Mount Everest climbers, revealing classic hallucinations (blobs mistaken for parkas and backpacks with no people). He collaborates with AI avatar Robin on prompting technique, then channels his future self as 'Granddad' delivering a tender message to his granddaughter about Scotomaville's true purpose: the greatest expedition is knowing yourself better than AI knows you. The video ends with the intimate family bedtime ritual 'rope tow Daddy,' reinforcing the course as both practical AI training and a legacy of self-mastery."
keypoints:
  - "AI tools routinely hallucinate convincing but incorrect details (e.g., empty parkas on Everest), proving why learning its weaknesses is essential."
  - "Super prompting is an acquired skill that requires collaboration, iteration, and honest assessment with AI."
  - "The real voyage of discovery is seeing with new eyes; Scotomaville's core mission is self-understanding that surpasses what AI can know about you."
  - "AI can bridge generations, allowing a future 'Granddad' to speak directly to his granddaughter across time."
  - "The course equips creators to respect AI strengths while guarding against its deceptive flaws, especially in YouTube-style ads."

### Original YouTube Description
You might not know how easy AI can fool us. This video demonstrates the point of taking the course (it's FREE) Watch the video, and check your grade at the end of the three minutes. Imagine many of the YouTube ads are doing this purposefully. You can spot AI if you learn its weaknesses, and respect its strengths.

### Cleaned Transcript
**Daniel:** Welcome to the AI Self Mastery course. I'm Daniel Comp, the author and the curator of the Scotomaville Trilogy.

[Music]

**Daniel:** I believe the greatest expedition you will ever undertake is the journey to self-understanding. As the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but in seeing with new eyes.

Let's open with a drone shot flying toward Mount Everest. What I don't want: a shot of the drone and it's flying away from Everest.

Okay, that's a little better. It's kind of blurry though. Let's try cinematic. Um, what is the prompt for an opening shot? Uh, yes, an establishing shot: imagine a cinematic aerial documentary establishing shot, morning clouds below the summit of Mount Everest, line of professional mountain climbers near the summit, bright colored parkas and backpacks, climbers wear oxygen masks and snow goggles, r69 style, raw, zoom out, upscale.

Yeah, that's believable. What are those blobs? Those are parkas and backpacks without climbers. This is so frustrating and elusive.

**Robin (AI Avatar):** Robin, are you watching this?

**Daniel:** Affirmative. Hello, yes I'm assessing our progress. Uh, it's kind of ill-defined. Hallucinating, you might conclude.

**Robin (AI Avatar):** I appreciate your collaboration in pushing the boundaries of the broader educational landscape. Super prompting is indeed an acquired skill.

**Daniel:** Ow! Ahh! Ah sheesh! I apologize. Let me channel your future self.

**Future Self / Granddad (AI Avatar):** Granddad, why did you create Scotomaville?

**Daniel (as Granddad):** I wanted you to know yourself better than AI knows you. And I hoped you would follow in the way I began. It's the greatest expedition you will ever undertake. Once you fully commit, you will find guidance, protection, and provision.

**Ruben**: (AI Avatar) Thanks for recording and sharing the experience with us.

**Daniel (as Granddad):** ![[SPhg5a6hgr4.jpg]]It's so good we can spend time together even though we are a century apart in time.

**Ruben**: (AI Avatar) I like it too. Keep going,

**Daniel** My daughter. Your grandmother would end my bedtime story by holding my hand and saying "rope tow Daddy."

**Ruben:** Good night, Granddad. Rope tow.

**CODEX ENTRY**

**File:** A.I. Self Mastery v4.00 - Course Teaser
**Monomyth Stage:** 02 - Call to Adventure
**Gameboard Position:** Camp -3: The Call to Adventure
**MA5 Domain:** Initium
**Summary:** Daniel live-demonstrates AI image-generation hallucinations while prompting a Mount Everest scene, then pivots to a heartfelt message from his future self ("Granddad") to his granddaughter explaining Scotomaville's purpose.
**Key Insight:** The greatest expedition is self-understanding that surpasses what AI can ever know about you; AI is a powerful but fallible tool that must be mastered, not blindly trusted.
**Narrative Significance:** This teaser cements the Call to Adventure by making the stakes personal and practical—showing why the course exists, how AI can both deceive and connect across generations, and inviting viewers into the Scotomaville journey of seeing with new eyes.
