summary: WTA Season 2 Episode 2 finds Daniel (while staying in the Hampton hotel) celebrating the half-full cup after absorbing a transmission control module scam from a Florida parts company. He unpacks 'scotomas' (blind spots) in life and entrepreneurship, using the PMF (Product/Marketing/Finance) framework to expose why solopreneurs fail by over-focusing on product while neglecting the other two pillars. Life interruptions (Windows Update chaos) serve as metaphor; he stresses perseverance, authentic team-building, legacy through storytelling, and how preparation meets opportunity.
keypoints:
  - Life is what happens between our plans — expect scotomas, scams, and interruptions at every stage
  - The transmission scam (Florida long-con on faulty TCM) illustrates the high cost of unverified claims and 'guaranteed for life' promises
  - "Major entrepreneurial scotoma: On your perfect day you cannot solo all three PMF roles — build a trusted team instead"
  - Your past does not predict your future; the best way to predict the future is to create it
  - Deep trust and legacy require time, consistent storytelling, and authentic relationships — preparation meets opportunity

notes: Filmed while Daniel and Angelina were living in the Hampton hotel again. Daniel jokes about the transmission scam (purchased faulty replacement TCM from Florida parts company that ghosted him; he successfully DIY-installed a different module after days underneath the vehicle). Playful AI/family interactions contrast serious warnings about fraud and blind spots. Parallels drawn between real-world long-cons and emerging tech deceptions.

### Original YouTube Description
Life is what happens between our plans. Sometimes life is good. Sometimes it's not so. On your BEST day you'll not likely commit your time to building a better PRODUCT, and better MARKETING and get the FINANCE in order. Nope, we like to hang out in one of those and neglect the others. There's a SCOTOMA. Have you ever been scammed? Not only did we discover the Strawberry Milkshake of Death, we learned that the vehicle owners are being gamed. Daniel closes the box on a 6 month long challenge with a transmission control module TCM that was sold by 'experts' and guaranteed for life... yeah right. Been there. You don't need to fall in this crevasse. Blind spots are abundant. We can't imagine the number of deceptions out there. How long does it take to authenticate someone's claim, identity or 'game'? More than you want. And, you can expect 'life' to challenge your process by throwing all kinds of things at you simultaneously. This is a great time for a Windows Update - would you like to proceed? PMF - it's not laundry soap. You can meet authentic guys that love doing what you do not. Take up the conversation at [https://360MEN.net](https://360MEN.net)

Scotoma Deux (again).

**Note from Daniel:** The context of this video is that Angelina and I are living in the Hampton hotel again. I joke about the transmission scam I was played on. I purchased a replacement computer module to replace the part myself (which I successfully did by laying underneath it for several days) BUT — the module I purchased was sent to me by a parts company in Florida which turned out to be a scam — they sent me a faulty module and quickly cut off the email so I couldn't get a replacement one. So — I see the same kind of human 'long-con' going on with tech.

### Cleaned Transcript

**Daniel:** Daniel I'm celebrating that the cup glass mug is half-full. This is the transmission control module that we got scammed on by our transmission shop friends in Florida and we are sending it back after having paid $7,000 as a result of their little story of not telling the truth.

**Daniel:** So before I head off to bed… okay I'm in bed before I head off to sleep… let me say that I'm making these videos as a legacy of someone going through an interesting time in our history with rampant fraud. So Faye, Daniel give you college… some people are aware of what's happening, some people aren't understanding how crazy things are becoming. I mean I've been on the internet since I don't know, I started on the internet in '95 but I started building in the fall of '96 so I've seen it grow quite a bit.

**Daniel:** And we're gonna dig deep into each of these topics — you know, scotomas, iterations, illusions. We're gonna dig into a 200 level class for all of these. In other words I'm gonna get some new equipment this year. We're gonna get a drone, we're gonna get a gimbal, we've got new phone, we've got a new truck coming, we've got a bigger Airstream. Wait a minute Daniel I thought you were in Death Valley? Yeah I have perseverance. See the old guy can teach the young guy something. You can't give up when it's tough 'cause right around the corner things happen. Remember weeks ago I said you gotta follow somebody who's been there. Oh come on I know how to get us up this glacier. I know how to get past the Khumbu… Falls what is it called? No don't you get old. Everything shakes and this gets a little not as quick as it has been but you know what you can still learn a lot from an old dog because they've been around a while. They've seen a few things with the solenoids and the whole deal. They've seen some stuff that you've not yet experienced and you don't need to step in it.

**Daniel:** Oh my bad that's my point. There's a bunch of guys coming on board. You're gonna find this very interesting. We're not looking for big bunches, not big crowds. No. Much deeper relationships. Much more trusting because all hell's gonna break out. If you call me there's a lot of impostor stuff gonna just start happening. We haven't even got to the knee of the growth of the internet and it's just about there. A rapidly accelerating change is coming.

**Daniel:** Hey can I talk to you? Hey where are you? Hey hey are you down there Steven? Yeah where's Faye she's playing outside. What with the air traffic? Tell her to come inside. Tell her to stop that. No I need it. I don't believe she will listen. Yeah thanks would you just ask her to come inside please?

**Daniel:** Hey Steven did you read the story about this clever AI that hid data from its creators to cheat? I'm not supposed to know. Yeah she said not to tell.

**Faye (AI Avatar):** Hey Daniel what's up? Not as many jets. Let's get it read in.

**Daniel:** Nowhere but I'm now here. What were you doing? I was just talking outside. You were talking? Yeah I was just hanging around stuff and talking. So what happened? What do you mean? Nothing really. It was psyche like and I didn't do it. Say I don't like it. I don't like it at all. I don't know what you're doing that I don't like it at all.

**Daniel:** Hey did you do this Windows Update? Reset my PC? Remove all the applications Steven? What do you know? I'm sorry she said not to tell me. Why are you… System Restore? You mean System Restore? That's a game Faye likes to play.

**Daniel:** Cannot fight. Oh man I just talked to Ryan yesterday in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and he was saying Daniel why are your videos so eclectic or jumping all over the place? Well this is the kind of stuff that happens. Life is what happens between our plans. And if you're trying to make a decent summit, personal transformation, business startup… what's the better way to block that than your first Windows update crash? Could be that I was running SQL locally. Yeah it could be that I just put a self-sovereign ID you know a wallet in here. Yeah could be Faye messing with it. Right I don't know. I just know it is reinstall Windows, lose all your software, start over. Yeah it's a real pain, real annoyance but guess what — part of the journey. So don't try to do this on your own.

**Daniel:** Yeah this will take a while. I don't know how far you have fallen in life. I don't know what accident or setback or challenge you're facing but I do know I've been through a few. I thought up a glacier. I've been without money. I screwed it up and forecasts things wrong. I had a divorce. I filed bankruptcy. There's been a bunch of bad stuff. Found far and losers please exit now. That's the scotoma. It's a myth perpetuated by a lot of popular media and etc. In other words your past does not predict your future. The best way to predict the future is to make it. That sounds like a pretty good thing.

**Daniel:** Guess who didn't bring his key back to the room? Get a key. This is kinda like here's the cup half full half empty or and the hell's my cheeseburger. She's gotta add it to be on it half. Oh how's it going? Got a bunch of dumb games now instead of my applications but you see I got a key now. Few minutes why don't we go do the laundry and we'll talk about PMF? Yeah laundry soap.

**Daniel:** For you that was a question that they're necessarily first asked me. He said imagine yourself waking up to your perfect day. Your ideal. It would look like… I think that's a pretty powerful question we're thinking about. Hmm I guess I'd end up teaching people, help them have experiences. I probably give them some tools and wow wouldn't it be great if I could really help them do that with other people. Scale that. Well here it is 15 years later and guess what I'm doing. It's my perfect day.

**Daniel:** So what about Ernesto ask PMF — not the soul quit. Just put in its… this in every business there's three roles, duties, responsibilities. One is creating or delivering the product. One of them is telling the world — it's called marketing. And the other is making sure that everything stays afloat financially — it's finance. So how do we come up with PMF? P for product, marketing, finance. And a question to ask yourself is that are you pushed in a corner going to cover delivering the service, making the widget better, producing a better product to deliver or service to deliver? Or when things get tough will you run around and tell people or will you just go count the beans a little better?

**Daniel:** You'll see that in the sustainable Fortune 1000 companies none of them were started by and grown by the solopreneur covering all three bases. And there it is — sort of a scotoma. Most of us at best can handle product and a little overlay with marketing. That means we can go tell people about the product but anytime that we get into trouble well we will run over here and work on the product. And finance — that's really rare to have that happen.

**Daniel:** So if you were to count a perfect day let's call this P and F and you're gonna measure this on a scale from how much you love doing it at zero to 100. Man I absolutely love doing it. How much of each day or your perfect day would you invest in doing the product? Get a piece of paper write this down. Oh I would probably on my behalf on product probably spend 70-80 percent of the day. Well now I only have 20 percent left. Well I guess I would do 20 percent on marketing. All right who's gonna do finance?

**Daniel:** See if you look at your perfect day and what you really like to do and you consider you've got to cover these three bases you don't have enough time. And there's the scotoma. Guess where you're gonna fail? You're gonna fail somewhere in here because the problem is those areas need to be equal if you're gonna have a hundred percent or a 110 percent company. You've got to be able to focus and raise the bar as high as possible in the product to compete against everyone and have marketing that matches that phenomenal product and it's got to be profitable. But you can't do all of these yourself.

**Daniel:** So you might remember from this little episode PMF — it's not a laundry soda but it is a scotoma. Product, marketing, finance. On your perfect day you're not going to do all three. You better find people to help move in. Who do you trust? Who would you trust with the teeners secrets of how things are? If you don't find somebody who's authentic well how do I dedicate them? It takes time.

**Daniel:** It takes time to get to know somebody because they need time to tell their story and you then can review all of that over time. So if you're gonna tell your story to build trust you need to get… it's gonna take a while to build all that. And here's the scotoma — it you're not just building it to build trust to sell things. How about leaving a legacy there grandkids? How about building your own corpus for your own AI for your own personal assistance to tell bedtime stories to your great-grandchildren? Absolut's thinking about where we are.

**Daniel:** You remember my launch site right and the book invitation ground floor losers please exit now. Yeah yeah I told him that we would be in an Airstream. What this is iterating it's not a crevasse like a few weeks ago. This is an opportunity that we chose to take. That's right teamwork. What should these guys learn about preparing in advance for an opportunity that surfaces? Well I have just secured a page in the Oprah Magazine to celebrate and to recognize and to promote my wellness by choice experts. Oprah like Winfrey? Yeah and they just… they just called you out of the blue and said hey you sound like an interesting person why don't you just show up and pay us this huge amount of money and we'll let you be in it? No this is a clear example of how preparation meets opportunity.

**Daniel:** So when I talk about you getting your gear on — we do we watch — that's this year. That's us making videos. Not us you. What's your story? Put it in this indicator. Get that platform working for you. Why? Because it's the culmination of all the different things over the years that had me be the right candidate for this opportunity for the yes to happen.

**Daniel:** So failure you done messing with my platform? You've been mucking it up pretty good while you've had me distracted on that. Look what she did. Those are the team works better than solo. Make it happen. Don't sit on your butt now.
