summary: "While hightailing it out of the Texas Hill Country heat toward Phoenix, Daniel and Angelina overnight in a Walmart parking lot in Amarillo. Daniel playfully claims he has discovered the true origin of the word “dimwit” — DMWT = Don’t Mess With Texas — after a series of small missteps (inside-out shirt, zombie-like 4 a.m. walk, toys and overflow boxes everywhere). The video mixes light-hearted whining, practical boondocking tips learned from fellow RVers Sean & Christy, appreciation for free Walmart coffee, and the simple joy of hot coffee and a new day on the road."
keypoints:
  - "Walmart parking-lot camping is free, clean, and convenient when you park on the outer edges to avoid being blocked in"
  - "Small lessons compound: remove temporary tags promptly, learn from others’ mistakes (awnings, generators), and keep toys/gear organized inside the Bambi"
  - "Life’s measurable results show up in tiny disciplines — from remembering to flip your shirt right-side out to mastering the daily shuffle of tiny-space living"
  - "Humans are pattern-seeking creatures who love interpreting signs; sometimes the funniest patterns (DMWT) turn ordinary mishaps into memorable stories"
  - "Even when sore from prior injuries or tired from travel, the rhythm of the road — hot coffee, new scenery, and a fresh start — makes the discomfort worthwhile"

### Original YouTube Description

Daniel Comp discovers what he believes is the origin of the phrase dimwit. It's closely related to Camping overnight at the Wally Mart. "We humans are 'pattern-seeking' creations. We love to spot and interpret 'signs' and 'wonders' - by leaving the heat of Texas for the fire of Phoenix, wearing his shirt inside out, and walking the Walmart parking lot at 4 in the morning like a zombie. DimWit = DMWT. You can learn a lot by asking dimwits rather than being one. Join the private conversation at [http://360MEN.net](http://360MEN.net)

**Daniel:**
My favorite quotes from business philosopher Jim Rohn is that life expects certain measurable results from us and that’s why they make those second grade chairs so small. Example of how guys help guys out with tips. An acquaintance of ours recently said after having gotten a ticket for his trim ring obscuring the state — passed on to me “you better take that off they can’t read the state they’ll give you a ticket.” Guess what we did? We’re not getting the ticket for marketing. Thank you John.

One day I was ordering concrete for a project and I needed nine yards and the guy on the other end of the phone goes “ah you want the whole nine yards?” I’m like yeah. Well it turns up those cement trucks — they can only hold nine cubic yards. On my house the one goes “you’ve seen squirrels they run across the road right there tail in the air and that’s called hightailing it out of here.” Look what I learned. You know what that phrase called dimwit? It stands for Don’t Mess With Texas.

Angelina and I are leaving the Texas Hill Country and the 90 degree daytime highs. We’re headed to Phoenix. Think about that one for a second. I know they can’t stand the flames.

And shop — it turns out that they have a Dairy Queen which so I’m gonna do an unabashed plug for my story’s called A Little Ice Cream Boy and you’ll have to go over and watch that to see what how much of the treat this really is like.

Just spend the night at a Wally Mart now. It stacks up lucky and find a remote spot. They have really good night lights. They really keep them clean. What’s it like sleeping in a Walmart parking lot? Sean and Christy — my pals from long long honeymoon — have a couple of really great instructional videos about things not to do like Jack got your awning and it’s hard to be generator. Then we just had a couple of visuals to share with you that they add a little more insight overall.

It’s free. Coffee is smelling really good in here. Ah hey Angelina. God he’s good. Wake up. Walmart’s coming alive again. Oh yeah we got hot coffee. We got sleepy eyes. Yes mister walking Walmart in his pajamas. Angelina just pointed this out — we ever worn the shirt inside out. Tim with all the toys on the bed and the floor and the overflow boxes and time to hit the road.

We picked up from Sean and Christy just to park on the very outside edges giving yourself a way out. And honest something people won’t lock you in if given a chance. Those keen observations that I was able to be astute and insightful for dimwit.

With your uh Bill O’Reilly subscriber you’ll know that he has the word of the day and for us it would be dimwits. Be sure to leave your comments below. Click the subscribe button. Share us however you want to get the word out about 360MEN. And now it’s time for my day job which is to get us safely out of Texas all the way headed toward Albuquerque and that’s called hightailing it out of here.

**Summary:** While fleeing Texas heat for Phoenix, Daniel and Angelina boondock overnight at a Walmart in Amarillo. Daniel spins a playful etymology claiming “dimwit” = DMWT (“Don’t Mess With Texas”) after a comical string of small-road mishaps (inside-out shirt, zombie parking-lot walk, toy explosion). He shares practical lessons from fellow RVers and celebrates the simple rewards of free coffee and a new sunrise.
**Key Insight:** Life delivers measurable results through tiny disciplines and pattern recognition; even “dimwit” moments become useful when you stay curious, learn from others, and keep moving forward with humor intact.
**Narrative Significance:** This light-hearted road vignette captures the gritty-yet-joyful reality of the early Scotomaville/Initium journey — two people learning to navigate tight quarters, minor failures, and constant change while still creating content and inviting men into conversation. It models the exact attitude required for the peloton: laugh at yourself, extract the lesson, and hightail it toward the next horizon.
