summary: "Daniel shares the intense three-day ordeal of setting up social media accounts (Vimeo, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Facebook) despite decades of web expertise and building over 32,000 websites in 2017 alone. He contrasts critical observation with complaint, highlights the unexpected pain (especially Facebook’s delayed email confirmations), and reveals newfound empathy for what Angelina has handled for clients for a decade. The experience reinforces the 360MEN philosophy of leading from the front like a chevron of geese — figuring out the hard parts first so others can follow more easily."

### Original YouTube Description

Daniel Comp talks about setting up his social media accounts and experiencing massive amount of mental anguish and emotional frustration over three days in spite of his expertise and decades of web-based production experience. You can be an expert at something and still be completely incompetent and frustrated at nearby tasks. Just goes to show how learning something new could be eased with guidance. That's something to think about and a conversation to have at [http://360MEN.net](http://360MEN.net)

**Daniel:**
In my mind there’s a difference between a critical observation and a complaint. It has to do with evidence based on an experience one has.

You remember, a part of the foundation of the philosophy of 360MEN is like a chevron of geese — where I might be in the front figuring out how to do things like produce these videos all from a cell phone so that you too can do that, and how to syndicate it across the whole US so you too can get your message out across everywhere to help build a corpus. So together we can all sort of sort out this gender neutrality of the emerging AI.

That’s a lot, but back to my point.

I have built more websites in the last 20 years — I started in ’97, but specifically in 2017 I built over 32,000 websites. That’s more than I think any other human on the planet has ever built in their career, and I built it in one year. So I’m pretty versed on how to get around on the web.

Well, I’ve avoided social media almost entirely. I mean, I set up a Facebook account decades ago but I’ve never used it. So as part of this I need to push and then lead: how are you going to set up all your social media accounts?

And this was the most painful process that I have had in forever. So here’s what I did. I set up my Vimeo account, my Instagram account, my Pinterest account, my YouTube account, my Twitter account, my Google+ account, my LinkedIn account, and my Facebook account and Page.

Part of the criticism — the complaint — that I have is it took me three full days just to go through each of those platforms and get things synchronized. And the worst of all of them is Facebook. I am still waiting two days later for numerous requests for an email change confirmation — just an email from Facebook. One of them came about 24 hours later. We’ve done it numerous times and it’s now almost two days later and we still can’t get it.

And it’s not a technical thing with them. No, it’s not technical because they have all the resources necessary to send out a confirming email just like all the other tech companies.

So why am I ranting about this? I’m just now discovering what Angelina has done for our clients for at least a decade in setting all of this up. And you and I are gonna go through this together. It’s painful. It’s really painful. Boy, if I could offload this to somebody… oh yeah, I can. I want a tech company. I should have done that. But see, I needed to experience the pain first so that I can relate, so I can have compassion and understand the situation.

So that’s my observation: three days to set up all my social media accounts. Holy cow. Let’s get back to doing the content. And that’s something to think about.

**Gameboard:** Camp -3: The Call to Adventure
**MA5 Domain:** None
**Summary:** Daniel recounts the unexpected three-day hell of configuring multiple social media accounts despite vast web expertise, gaining visceral empathy for Angelina’s long-term client work and reinforcing the 360MEN “lead from the front” chevron-of-geese model.
**Key Insight:** True leadership requires personally enduring the pain of new tasks first, transforming frustration into compassion and clearer guidance for the group.
**Narrative Significance:** This raw early vignette establishes the gritty, hands-on Ordinary-to-Adventure transition in Scotomaville. It models vulnerability and servant leadership that will define the entire 360MEN and Initium journey — proving that even experts must climb their own small Everests before inviting others to join the peloton.
