# Daniel Comp's Drumbeat Archive: Installer Files Dated 1999 to 2003

This is a Windows File Explorer screenshot of the Drumbeat folder in Daniel Comp's own backup archive (E:\WD500-Archive\Archive_Daniel\ProgramCDs\Drumbeat), taken Nov 2, 2026.

The oldest dated files are DB2KSP1.exe and DB2KSP1Help.exe (Mar 26, 1999). DrumbeatSP2.exe is dated Sep 8, 1999 and Zarchive_DrumbeatUserGuideASP.exe Nov 28, 1999. The newest are two patch files dated Sep 18, 2003. Seven folders sit above them, including Contracts, Developers Guide and DrumbeatEcomm; the folders all show Jul 28, 2022, which is when the folder was copied.

Daniel says Drumbeat, with Don's Access database, was the tool behind his early work on web syndication (see [claims C23 to C25](https://danielcomp.com/map.md)). This listing is dated evidence from his owner archive that he held the product from 1999. File dates are modification dates in a copied backup, so they are approximate. The listing does not date his first use, and it does not show 1997 or 1998 work.

Drumbeat was made by Elemental Software and later sold under the Macromedia name. macromedia.fandom.com (pages Macromedia_Drumbeat and Elemental_Software) says Macromedia bought Elemental in late 1999; Daniel's Oct 21, 1999 support reply already comes from a macromedia.com address, so the exact date of the change is not settled here. Archived pages of Don's Auto Parts carry an "Elemental Software Drumbeat 2000 3.04.411" generator tag from Mar 3, 2000 ([claim C23](https://danielcomp.com/map.md)). Daniel's own mail adds earlier dated traces: a Macromedia Drumbeat support reply of Oct 21, 1999 and a forward of Sep 8, 1999 that names "Drumbeat 2000" (cited by date and subject in C23).

## Don's database

Daniel also provided Don's Access database, donsautoparts.mdb, and says it came with pages that credit Elemental Software and Drumbeat. What can be checked from the file we hold: it is a Microsoft Access (Jet) database of about 3.96 MB with parts, make, year and page-text tables. A text search of the whole file and of its table exports finds no mention of "Drumbeat", "Elemental" or "Macromedia" inside it. So the credit is not shown by the database file itself. The Drumbeat credit that can be shown is the generator tag on the archived pages above, and this folder listing. Daniel's statement that the database and those pages went together is his account (C25), not something this file proves.
