## The story
Fax paper doesn't keep its secrets for long. These sheets have faded nearly to white in Daniel's portfolio, and to the eye the first page looks almost blank. With the contrast pushed hard, the printing comes back. The header shows a fax addressed "To: COMP, DANIEL J." and sent "From: ACN Communications Center," with the sender code "ACNFAX104."

Below it run column titles for a downline report, with lines of names, phone numbers, start dates and dollar amounts. The start dates that can be read say 05/11/95, which places the statement in 1995 or later. The last page is numbered, as best it can be read, "Page 9/10."

Daniel's account is that the stack holds nine pages of an ACN commission statement. Each line is a downline rep, with the income he earned from their work. He sees the fading itself as a truth no SI would fabricate, the providential story of this fragment. He has said his downline grew to about 8,200. This fragment doesn't show a total, so that figure remains his account.

The last page carries his own markings. Highlighter stripes are labelled with Nevada towns (Sparks, Reno, Carson), and a green stripe reads "2 jobs." Written sideways is "Chuck Ayers – near Dayton," followed by a phone number (withheld here).
