# "Soaring to New Heights": Daniel Comp's Notes from ACN's 1996 Atlanta Conference

## The story
By the spring of 1996, Daniel was far enough into ACN to travel to its national conference in Atlanta. This page, kept in a clip binder, holds his typed notes from the event, titled "Soaring to new heights." He highlighted the lines that mattered most to him in pink.

The first is a quote from Greg Provenzano: "We are at a historic point in ACN." From Mike Cupisz's talk on "going back to the basics," he marked the reminder that ACN was "the opportunity to get beyond the limitations of money." Further down, he highlighted one line: "Paint a picture of where my group is going 2-3 years from now!" Robert Stevanoski's notes cover a new operator-services division and paging. Greg Provenzano's later notes cover briefings, kits and the new FCC slamming penalties.

The footer gives a Tacoma office address and the phone number 206-627-0690. Daniel's account is that he was in the top-100 producers group and spoke for about two minutes to a crowd of over 32,000 ACN reps. The page itself doesn't mention his talk.

This page sits beside story 09, the faded 1995 ACN fax addressed to "COMP, DANIEL J.," which shows start dates of 05/11/95. Together they place Daniel inside ACN in 1995–96, which supports the LCI-to-ACN part of the lineage claims in Daniel's lineage record. ACN's earlier years and the 8,200 figure remain Daniel's account.
