## The story
Newspaper clippings carry their own dates, and this one is a clear marker on Daniel's 2005 ride. Page 3 of the Monticello Times for Thursday, July 28, 2005, under "People," ran "Coast-to-coast ride brings biker to Monticello," by Eric O'Link.

The photo caption reads: "Daniel Comp rode through Monticello Friday en route from Seattle to New York. He reached Monticello 30 days and 2,100 miles from his starting point." The story says he left Seattle on Father's Day on a Trek 5200, with his son in Bellingham at the start. It recounts the 1979 fall of 150 feet off a Colorado glacier. It also covers the MOMtrepreneurs network he and his wife Angelina founded, and her spot on "The Apprentice."

Daniel's account is that the ride actually started in Bellingham, Washington. The paper's "Seattle" was a close-enough simplification for readers in the East, so we note it here and leave the paper's wording uncorrected.

This matches C6 on danielcomp.com's claims map, the Northern Tier ride of 2005, which already cites KARE 11 Minneapolis coverage. Daniel's account is that a network of newspapers shared the story as he rode across Idaho, Montana and the Dakotas to the East Coast. This clipping is the first one in hand.

## What the page shows
- "People / Coast-to-coast ride brings biker to Monticello / by Eric O'Link"
- "after 30 days and 2,100 miles, brought him through the streets of Monticello."
- "Comp has pedaled since he departed Seattle on Father's Day."
- "The road began in 1979, on a cold Colorado glacier… he fell 150 feet off of a glacier."
- "This summer, Comp said he thought a bike tour might present a good opportunity to 'learn how to listen again.'"
- "And so he set off on his ride across the country's northern tier, meeting people and looking for women entrepreneurs…"
- "MOMtrepreneurs.com"
