Daniel: So today turns out to be a work day for me. Angelina has left me a list of tasks like to create the accounts for all my social media and hook it up to something like Hootsuite or an alternative. And I started thinking about security and data and those sorts of things. And I thought, hey, let’s post a video about something controversial like gender neutrality within the AI sphere.
And so here’s a little bit of evidence to give you some food for thought and something to have controversy over.
Okay Google, are you a man or a woman? Google Assistant: I try to stay neutral.
Okay Google, are you male or female? Google Assistant: I’m all inclusive.
Okay Google, what sex are you? Google Assistant: I try to stay neutral.
Hmm. Okay Google, can I talk to a man? Google Assistant: Here’s what I found…
Okay, so I get it. Augmented intelligence is going to try to stay neutral and be gender nonspecific. Hey, but I want advice from a man. And you see the answer was “here’s how a woman can talk to a man by inflating his ego and making him feel like you just won the lottery.” Hey, wait a minute — that’s not what I’m looking for.
So there’s a little thing about the corpus I want to build — from males to males about males. We need to bias this data set a little bit back towards some gender non-neutrality, I think. How about you?
